MHFA Refresher

The Online MHFA Refresher course is designed specifically for individuals who have already completed the initial Mental Health First Aid training. Similar to the requirements for physical first aid, it is recommended that Mental Health First Aiders renew their skills by attending a Refresher course every three years.

Upon completing the MHFA Refresher course, you will be certified for another three years. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to join or continue your membership with the Association of Mental Health First Aiders. This membership ensures that you have ongoing access to resources and support, helping you feel confident in your ability to assist others with mental health challenges.

The course is scheduled to take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Mental Health First Aid – Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) his comprehensive two-day course teaches participants to recognize the signs of poor mental health and provides the confidence to start a conversation and guide the individual to appropriate support. Upon completion, participants become certified as MHFAiders®.

MHFA Champion – Ideal for those with people management responsibilities, this one-day course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion. It focuses on equipping managers and leaders with the skills to support their teams’ mental health effectively.

Mental Health Aware – This is a half-day, four-hour introductory session aimed at raising awareness of mental health. Developed by MHFA England, it provides learners with a basic understanding of common mental health issues.

Mental Health First Aid Refresher or those who have already completed the MHFA training, this four-hour refresher course is recommended every three years. Developed by MHFA England, it helps refresh your skills and knowledge in mental health support.

What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognized training course designed to equip managers and staff with the skills to identify the signs and symptoms of mental ill health. The course focuses on teaching participants how to provide initial support, offer reassurance, and guide individuals to the appropriate help they may need, functioning as a form of mental health first aid.

MHFA does not aim to train participants to become therapists. Instead, much like physical first aid, it focuses on teaching participants how to listen, reassure, and respond effectively, even in crisis situations.

All our Mental Health First Aid courses are delivered by accredited MHFA Instructors who are registered with MHFA England. The Mental Health First Aid Instructor course itself is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, ensuring that the training meets high standards of quality and effectiveness.

The 2 day MHFA course was great; it gave me insight in to the issues and tools to help me talk to people in the right way.
