Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace

This Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace course has been developed for directors, managers and supervisors from all sectors to raise awareness of a variety of mental health conditions and help learners to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with mental health issues within the workplace and in our communities.
This course explores legislation associated with mental ill health and gives learners an understanding of how to promote good mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace Course Content

  • Understand the meaning of mental health
  • Recognise early signs of mental ill health
  • Explain the stigma and discrimination associated with mental ill health
  • List legislation associated with mental health within the work place
  • Understand a variety of mental health conditions
  • Know how to promote wellbeing in the workplace
  • Identify sources of support and information
  • Reflect and evaluate current ways of working

The course is a full day course (6 hours). The course is designed for up to 16 delegates.

Learners will be required to participate and demonstrate the Course Learnings throughout the session. This will be achieved by verbal questions and answers, ongoing observation and involvement in group and individual activities.

About Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace Course

Training courses are delivered by experienced and qualified trainers that have many years of specialist experience in working within the sector of the course they deliver.

Learners will gain the most out of the sessions through a variety of delivery methods that are used including: power point, individual and group activities, case studies, scenario’s, DVD clips, group discussion and research.

Course Duration

This is a full day course.

 Six hours split into two three hour sessions. 

 

Certification

Certificate of attendance will be issued to all learners that have demonstrated that learning has taken place throughout the session and course outcomes have been met.
